Though I have lived in Massachusetts since 1978 (I arrived six months after the infamous blizzard), I was born in Rome, Italy, and lived there and in London and San Francisco until I went to college. In addition to all the pursuits described on this website, I love to travel with my wife, a Latin teacher, and take photographs. Our most recent trip was a two-week, 84-mile walk across England, following the Hadrian's Wall path. We saw some spectacular scenery that has already inspired a quilt.
