MADE WITH

YARN

The British school I attended as a child believed in teaching students practical as well as academic skills.  It was there that I learned to embroider and knit, to value the work I do with my hands, and to take pride in workmanship.

A tactile and visual person, I like playing with texture and color in my work with yarn—I particularly enjoy making color-blocked scarves. I want everything I make to feel good to the touch—no scratchy fibers allowed—and I get great satisfaction out of repurposing materials. For example, I also knit small rugs out of old woolen sweaters by felting the sweaters and then cutting them into one-inch strips that become my “yarn.”
